I regularly enter competitions to mix things up a bit and try out new things. Don’t Panic regularly hold a competition for the best/ most popular poster design and get on-line viewers to vote. They have a different theme each month and invite creatives to take part.
The themes for the posters opposite were End Of The World and Morality. Both posters had a huge response.
The poster, below left, was another Don’t Panic submission. The brief was to create a poster based around the phrase “The Independent London Whisky”.
It could be an expression or portrayal of independent London, or a visual interpretation of one of the many amazing stories from the history of Cutty Sark Whisky. As long as the tone was positive and the art clearly reflects our take on The Independent London Whisky, Cutty Sark then that was okay.
For my entry I chose to illustrate one of the stories about a witch from the history of the Cutty Sark Whisky. I didn’t win first prize but was one of the 10 runners up, which resulted in valuable exposure.
