The main objectives were to bring the current core menu up to date making sure the text is easy to read inside a dimly lit pub.
WETHERSPOON CORE MENU | 2015
Hi there, If you are only just arriving at my site then Helloooo and welcome! If you've been here before then I'm sooo sorry I've been away for a bit! I started a new job at BMC and have been constantly super busy since and neglected my website duties. However I have found a window of opportunity and at last I'm back! On this page you can find some of things I've been getting up to. I have mainly been working on the JDW Wetherspoon and Merlin account. Both have been really fun and great people to work for. I've put a small selection here so it you'd like to see more please take a peek on my design page, thank you.
BIG APOLOGIES, I'VE BEEN AWAY FOR A WHILE...

WETHERSPOON THE GRANITE CITY WALL MURAL | 2015
Wall mural for The Granite City pub in Aberdeen. It needed to show all the good things about drinking and eating in the pub - sustainable fish, freshly squeezed orange juice on site, craft beers and 100% British beef in an illustrative way.
WETHERSPOON CHILDREN'S MENU | 2015
A really enjoyable project. The brief - to make it fun and incorporate some games into the artwork.
WETHERSPOON THE WINDMILL PUB | 2015
This was a really exciting project to be part of. The Windmill pub in Stansted airport was being moved and re designed. We were requested to come up with a logo, menu design and some packaging ideas, JDW Wetherspoon initially thought about selling their own sauces and merchandise. I thought giving the kiddies their own little windmills to keep them occupied at the dinner table might be a good advertising give away. We had some of the architect’s drawings along with some colour and fabric samples to give us a good start. My main three angles were, repeating The Windmill logo pattern, using a triangle pattern with facets showing movement of The Windmill and using a windmill’s floor plans. I tried to give the menu a magazine/newspaper feel whilst using the faceted triangle and windmill blue print idea.
A selection of posters, more can be found on my design page.
WETHERSPOON POSTERS | 2014-2015
I was asked to pitch for the London Dungeon guide. We showed 3 different options, as a newspaper (their original idea), a diary entry of various known people from the past and a fun educational activity book. They were very impressed with all 3 ideas and even though originally they thought they’d go with the newspaper they ended up choosing a mixture of the diary of events and the activity book. However they still really liked the newspaper idea and handed it out as a freebie at their Jack The Ripper summer campaign, it worked really well as a marketing tool as the paper was left around on the tube, restaurants etc...
MERLIN: LONDON DUNGEON NEWSPAPER - SUMMER CAMPAIGN | 2015
The final London Dungeon booklet - a mixture of first person diary of events from known people from the past and a fun/educational activity book . Thirty six pages in total, the content ranges from Jack the Ripper, The Great Plague of London, Victorian cocktails, Guy Fawkes, The Great Fire of London to odd quirky facts about London. The guide has been one of my favourite projects so far.

Before starting work at BMC I was lucky enough to have a little freelance job with Miss Selfridge. Working on Miss Selfridge window and in store posters for their Oxford Circus branch was a big highlight for me. I was given the images from the photo shoot and a loose storyboard to work with and was then let free to come up some ideas to compliment the images with the theme flowers and spring.

Stroke Of Luck are a group of super talented guys that formed during their first year of university. They are influenced by bands such as Muse, Bastille and Tribes. They asked me to design the single cover to their new single, Penance and sent me a short paragraph describing their inspiration behind the song... “The inspiration behind penance is the feeling you get when you have done something completely out of character. The feelings you experience that are neither positive nor negative “who’s the one who really wins” and the eventual realisation that this situation you find yourself in is one that you’ve made and must suffer through - “penance for you sins”. No one wins or loses, it just exists as a horrible guilt ridden feeling that the protagonist experiences.” The sleeve bottom right is the one chosen for their new single Penance.

WETHERSPOON COCKTAIL MENU | 2015
I really enjoyed this project. The brief was to come up with a cocktail menu for JDW Wetherspoon higher end pubs in London. I had free range with the exceptions that it needed to list all of the products and have a header for each category. On the right, I was asked to create an alternate cover with the main drinks on and to bring out some of the histories and interesting facts behind the cocktails
